Happy New Year from the Pyrenees

News and Offers 2023

Hi! We are Rachel and Chris, and we make up the team at Allons-y-Pyrenees, a cycling guest house catering for up to 15 guests at a time in the tiny village of Thuy in the Hautes-Pyrenees.

Our stunning property is typically French and made up of a converted farmhouse and barns, with spacious bedrooms, comfortable salons and large outdoor spaces to relax in when you’re not out on the bike or busy exploring the area. The outdoor pool provides the perfect area to chill out around and offers great views of the Pyrenees. Our communal dining areas enable all of our guests to feast together - and it really will be a feast! We provide a 3-course, home-cooked, locally sourced meal each evening, all served with wine from our local vineyards (St Mont, Madiran or Jurancon).

We're taking bookings for the 2023 season and thought we'd set out some of our best selling cycling holidays in the hope that we can tempt you (or anyone else you know) to book a holiday with us next year.

The best cycling holidays start at AYP!

AYP Cycling - the best cycling holidays in the Pyrenees!
Our most popular holiday is the Yellow Jersey Package (7 nights half board with supported cycling), our Pyrenean Camping C2C Adventure (a mere 700 km and only 16,000m of height gain over 6 days of riding) is definitely a worthwhile challenge and our TDF Package promises an incredible experience, but don't forget, we will happily tailor a package to suit you, whether it’s a shorter or longer break, 1 person or a huge group, a tour into the Spanish side of the mountains or even something further afield - let us know what you're looking for and we'll create a package for you!

And if none of that tempts you then check out our exclusive offer for new guests: Book before the end of January, and you’ll save up to 20% on your cycling holiday. Use the referral code AYPNEW and when you book your next cycling holiday with us, you’ll save 20%. * It really is that easy!

2023 Cycling Offer AYP

TDFF Route 2023

All new for 2023 is our TDFF package.
With a Tourmalet summit finish and a time trial around Pau for the final stage of the TDFF, you don’t want to miss out on this! This package gives you the chance to see the final 2 stages of the 2023 Tour de France Femmes and it looks to be quite a finish!

Stage 7 on the 29th July is a 90km stage starting from the nearby town of Lannemezan and finishing at the summit of the mighty col du Tourmalet. With options including watching the sign in and stage start, cycling somewhere on the route to view the stage or heading out to the Tourmalet, we’ll make sure you see the action you want to see, in the place that you want to be!

The Tour’s final stage (stage 8) is a 22km time trial around Pau and the surrounding villages. We’ll head out to the wine region of Jurancon and watch the time trial from the village square, where wine stalls and other entertainment will be on offer to keep us fully occupied throughout the day and from where we can watch the action unravel on the road in front of us and hopefully view the final presentations on the big screen in the square.

Our 3 night package, priced from only 395€ per person, from the 28th -31st July really only leaves time to view the Tour, so for those of you with extra time available, we have the option to extend your stay with us for a few more days to fully experience the beauty of the Pyrenees and to perhaps try out a few rides or something more cultural. We can tailor rides to your ability and have all the local knowledge to find the perfect cycling routes for you, whether it’s a 30km gentle ride out through sunflower fields towards the vineyards or a much tougher day taking on some of the world famous cols of the Pyrenees. All rides will be supported with planned cafe stops along the way and can be adapted to suit all riders.

If you’re staying for a week, you may not want to cycle every day, so why not come with us for a visit to one of our local markets and experience life in the Pyrenees! The Pyrenees is also famous for its Therme Spas, maybe a spa afternoon in naturally heated waters takes your fancy? The Bastide towns and chateaux of the area are also impressive - in fact, even 1 week might not be enough time for you to take in all our area has to offer!

If a longer stay does take your fancy, please enquire about dates - we can add on days before or after the Tour, depending on availability at just 99€ extra per night for half-board and supported riding and transport for all outings included in that price.

A Tourmalet finish for the TDFF
