What a year it's been!
We've loved every moment of this season and it's all thanks to you, our guests.
We've made some fantastic friends throughout the year and seen old friends return for another great cycling stay. We can't wait until next year to do it all over again...
But before that, take a look back over the year that was...
After a busy end to 2017, January was a chance to catch up with some on-site maintenance in the winter sunshine...
As the snow fell down around us, we continued our training indoors, with plenty of wood ready for the fire and some tasty food to keep us going...
As the snow retreated and the sun came out, the cycling season began and we welcomed our first cycling guests of the year! Our pizza making skills were being perfected and the garden began to bloom...
As the sun shone down on us, we welcomed more cyclists to AYP. The site was looking very impressive with some beautiful plants springing up and on one of our rides we even found the Giant of the Tourmalet who hadn't yet made it back to his summer spot...
What a busy month! We completed our new chill out area above the pool and prepared for our first whole-site booking of the year and what a fantastic group Harry Middleton CC were. We had hours of fun with the guys and enjoyed lots of amazing rides, excellent food and made some great friends along the way...
Another busy month with both returning guests and new. Glorious weather ensured lots of great cycling and outdoor eating and our guests fully immersed themselves in the making of pizzas on our pizza night! An impressive range of cols were conquered during this month including several of the new TDF climbs. We're looking forward to seeing you all again soon...
Wow! The TDF did not disappoint and nor did our guests; another busy month and with all that cycling and Tour watching, we almost forgot to come back home and use the pool! Almost...
With the site fully booked, we still found time to catch up with returning guests and with family popping over from Australia and to get out on the road with them all!
Summer was still going strong throughout the whole of September with spectacular weather, perfect for long days out on the bike. We had lots of guests staying for long weekends and we also tried out a few mini cycling tours into Spain...
A month of 2 halves! We trialled our first Coast to Coast Camping Adventure and were very pleased with how well it went. Excellent company, campsites and cycling meant that we will definitely be offering this package for next year. We welcomed old friends over for the second half of the month and spent time cycling, making pizza and pasta with the children and chilling out by the pool - a great way to end the 'official' cycling season on a high...
Although the 'official' cycling season was over, our hire bikes were put to good use when a group came over to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. Sunny days were perfect for walking and cycle rides and afternoons spent chilling and playing board games outside before more home-cooked food by the fire...
As the year drew to a close, we featured in Cycling Plus' December edition in an article by Rob Kemp. There was plenty of work to be done on site with new 3m long trestle tables to make for our outside eating area. We tried our hand at pasta making and even managed to fit in a quick break to Roussillon before coming back for our New Year's guests. A great end to a great year!
Happy New Year!
We're looking forward to seeing you out here in 2019...
